Director
Prof. B. K. Mishra graduated with a B.Sc. (Engg) degree in Metallurgical Engineering from NIT Rourkela, in 1981. He then worked for Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd. for about three years, largely in project management. In the year 1984 he moved to USA for graduate study. In 1991, he obtained the Ph.D. degree from University of Utah. After Ph.D., he worked at the Comminution Center of the University of Utah for three years. In the year 1993, he moved to IIT Kanpur to start his teaching career. His teaching and research efforts had been focused on a variety of particulate materials. He is recognized for his contribution in the field of mineral engineering for successfully analyzing several problems relating to tumbling mills using the discrete element method (DEM). At IMMT (Formerly RRL) Bhubaneswar he is actively involved in developing the particle technology and colloids research group.
