The Centre for Herbal Drugs has focused R & D activities in developing bio-active molecules, leads and drugs from herbs and traditional medicine, triple ‘P' based standardization of herbal drugs, screening of new and unexplored natural sources, synthesis of bio-active molecules and development of new chemical entities.

The cell is engaged in R&D work on development of bioactives, lead molecules and drugs from natural resources like mangrove plants, marine flora, marine sessile organisms and biotechnological application of marine microorganisms.
