The 117th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R Ambedkar was celebrated on 14th April 2008 in the meeting hall of IMMT, Bhubaneswar jointly organized by IMMT, Bhubaneswar an IMMT SC/ST Employees Welfare Organization. Prof. B.K Mishra, Director, IMMT, Bhubaneswar presided over the function. Padmashree Tulasi Munda, Sri Ashok Kumar Behera OAS, BDO, Cuttack Sadara had participated the function as Chief Guest and Guest of honor respectively. Dr. Bhagyadhar Bhoi, Scientist and president, IMMT SC/ST Employees Welfare Organisation welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory speech. Sri Shyamalendu Digal, General Secretary, IMMT SC/ST Employees Welfare Organization read out the secretarial report of the organization. Prof. B.K Mishra, the Director, delivered a spirited talk on Baba Saheb Dr. B.R Ambedkar and his good deeds for the society. He also stressed upon the practical implication of Dr. B.R Ambedkar’s ideology for which Padmashree Tulasi Munda is here as an example. Sri Ashok Kumar Behera addressed the gathering and highlighted the remarkable contribution of Baba Saheb towards the upliftment of unprivileged society. At the end Padmashree Tulsi Munda, the Chief Guest, addressed the gathering and praised the activities of IMMT SC/ST Employees Welfare Organization which is constantly putting its effort to achieve goal towards the ideology of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. She also added the remarkable work done by IMMT, Bhubaneswar towards the rural development work for the use of common people. On this occasion, Prof. Mishra, the Director, presented a terafill water filter to madam Tulasi Munda.
Padmashree Tulasi Munda, Prof. B.K Mishra, Director, IMMT Bhubaneswar and Sri Ashok Kumar Behera distributed the prizes to the school children for their out standing performances in different fields.
Sri B.D Mahalik member of IMMT SC/ST Employees Welfare Organization proposed vote of thanks to all the staff members, guests and the electronic media for their kind cooperation and participation which was followed by inaugural tea and snacks.
A cultural program was arranged where staff members and their children had participated in large number which was followed by a community lunch in RRL UP School, Bhubaneswar.
