In order to motivate and inspire bright young students who are studying in B. Tech/ B. E./ M. Tech./ M. Sc. and wish to pursue research career in frontier areas of engineering and science, Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar had organised a two days programme on 17-18 September, 2008. The aim of the programme was to expose talented scholars to the state-of-the-art scientific research and infrastructure available at IMMT and provide them a platform to interact with leading scientists.

The eligibility critera to participate in this programme was for the students who were in their Seventh Semester of B.Tech /B. E. or second Year of M. Tech. / M. Sc. programmes (any branch). Selection of participants were on the basis of average CGPA / Percentage of marks obtained up to the end of academic year 2007-08. For outstation students, IMMT-Bhubaneswar had reimbursed travel allowance in shortest route (Sleeper Class) rail / road as per rules and also provided lodging / boarding.
