RRL participated in the Exhibition-cum-Fair on Rural Technology, held at Deoghar, Jharkhand, during 27-31 October 2006. Hon’bl Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Syed Sibte Razi and Mrs Razi inaugurated the exhibition. Unit of Science Dissemination, CSIR organized the exhibition on behalf of the Ministries of Science & Technology and Earch Sciences, Government of India. Shri Furkan Ansari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and state officials of Jharkhand were also present on the occasion, witnessed by thousands of visitors, mostly from Deoghar and adjoining areas.

The guests visited the RRL stall and interacted with the scientists on the usefulness of RRL’s gadgets like ‘Terafil’ water filter and ‘Harsha’ range cooking stove and low cost bakery oven. The dignitaries took keen interest on the rural implements developed by RRL and wished that the benefit of such cost effective and eco-friendly technologies be made available to the people of Jharkhand.

A number of visitors subsequently visited RRL’s stall put up for five days during 11 AM to 6 PM and showed enthusiasm for the live demonstrations of the gadgets developed at the Design and Rural Technology Department.  Dr Srikant Sharma and Sh PC Beuria Scientists and Sh PC Mohanty, Technician coordinated RRL’s participation and explained the economic gain and health benefits of various products to the visitors and provided bilingual product brochures. An all out effort was made by participating scientists to attract maximum number of visitors through interesting live demonstration and media back-up.
