Pneumatic Conveying Test Rig :
A low pressure pneumatic test rig was designed, fabricated and set up in IMMT for carrying out some applied and developmental work. Low pressure systems are categorised as such by the limitation imposed on the combination of air supply and feeding mechanism.The rig mainly consisted of Blow tank of size 1400mm ODX 800mm height that can withstand pressure 6kgf/cm2, twin lobe type blower of maximum capacity 140cfm, a 50mm NB pipe line system of 40meter length. This is a top discharge conveying system. Material is fed to blow tank through hopper. A bag filter is attached at the tail end of pipe to prevent dust pollution and load cell is attached to the hopper to measure the mass flow rate of material conveyed.The end pipe is connected to hopper so that the material can be recirculated. The various instrumentation incorporated in the system are , load cells, manometers, pressure gauge and rotameters .
