Multi Tribo-tester (Model: TR-25; DUCOM Make) for studying pure sliding, partial sliding and pure rolling contact (under dry and / or lubricated condition) for wide range of materials like metals, ceramics, polymers composites and coating at different loads, speed and temperatures.
Indentation creep testing system (Capacity 100 kg, SPRANTRONICS Make) capable of measuring creep indentation at elevated temperature under high vacuum using different loads and indentor diameter alongwith LVDT and advanced data acquisition and analysis software (I-Creep).
Leica DMI 3000M Inverted research trinocular metallurgical microscope with BF/DF/DIC application alongwith advanced image analysis software (Leica QMW materials workstation, Leica metallurgy suite) compatible to relevant international standards including ASTM, JIS, BIS, DIN & ISO as well as attachment of Leica DFC 295 scientific colour digital camera.
Ultrasonic Flaw Detector (MODOSONIC  make, Einstein - II TFC ) for detection and characterisation of internal flaws in welds, castings, forgings and structural components and Ultrasonic thickness gage (EDISON-I, MODOSONIC make) for measuring thickness of pipes and other in-situ components.
Four Channel PCI based Acoustic Emission Testing System (Model: Micro – II DISP-4; Make Physical Acoustic Corporation, USA) with advanced AE Win real time data acquisition software alongwith sensors (Pico, Micro, Nano) preamplifiers and filters. AE system is capable of examining the behaviour of materials deforming under stress, phase transformation, weld monitoring and process control, leak detection and proof testing of pressure vessels and pipe lines.
Automatic Universal Testing Machine (50 kN capacity; Tinius Olsen Make; Model: H50 KS) with HORIZON material testing and analysis software to carry out tension, compression, 3-point bend test, peel test for variety of materials like plastic, rubbers, polymers, composites and ceramics.
Stereo zoom Microscope (Model: SMZ 1000; Nikkon Make) with photographic arrangement for viewing the fracture surface of specimens.
Nikkon Metallurgical Microscope Reflecting type (Model: ECLIPSE LV-150) with 3.3 megapixel digital CCD colour camera for metallographic studies.
Portable Leeb Hardness Tester (model: TH 160; Make Time Group) based on rebound velocity measurement technique to measure the in-situ hardness property of components.
Fluorescent and non-fluorescent magnetic particle testing system for surface / near surface flaw detection of components alongwith dye penetrant inspection kit. 

Fully Automatic Rockwell Hardness Tester (Model: LCR – 500; LECO Make) to measure the hardness of metallic materials.

PC based fully automatic Micro Hardness Tester (Model: LM-247; LECO Make) to measure the hardness of different metallurgical phases. 

An 80 KW, mass flow controlled, programmable robotic attachment (Model: KR5C2 FLRZH02)  with turn table plasma spraying facility (Make: Metallisation, UK; Model: PS 50M).
Air Jet Erosion Tester (Model: TR-471-600, DUCOM Make) for erosion wear analysis of materials at ambient and  elevated temperatures (up to 600 C).
Glow  Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometer (Model: GDS 500A; LECO Make) for chemical analysis of metals and  alloys.

3kW Micro Wave Plasma CVD (Make: Seki Technotron, Japan) with substrate heating up to 850 °C. System is suitable for growth of diamond, diamond like carbon and carbon nanotube (CNT).

Dual cathode DC/RF sputtering with substrate heating up to 600 °C (Make: AJA International, USA) for growth of metal and compound films. System can be used for co-sputtering, which accommodates 3 inch substrate.
Pulse DC sputtering (Milman, India) for metal and compound film deposition.
Mini sputter coater (Emitech, UK) for gold coating.

Nano-indentation system (Make: Fisher-Cripps, Australia) for hardness and elastic modulus measurement of thin films and coatings. Maximum load up to 500 mN. Nano-scratch option is available.
Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), (Make: DME, Denmark), scan area of 200 x 200 µm2.

ESEM (Model: Supra 55; Zeiss, Germany Make) with resolution of 1.0 nm at 30 kV. Equipped with 20 mm2 Oxford EDS detector for imaging of conducting as well as non-conducting samples without gold coating.

Micro Raman (Model: STR 500; Seki Technotron, Japan) with 488nm and 514 nm lasers. Works stand alone and as an interface with FESEM.

Micro scratch tester (Make: CETR, USA) with 30N maximum load suitable for scratch testing of thin films and plasma spray coatings.

Contact angle measurement (Phoenix, SEO, Korea). Uses sessile drop method of contact angle measurement.
