DESCRIPTION :

Dr. Bhagyadhar Bhoi, obtained his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, Rajasthan University, India in the year 1986. He obtained the Master of Science and Technology Degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajasthan, India in the year 1994 and Ph.D. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Utkal University, Odisha, India in the year 2005. He joined CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar in the year 1988. At present he is working as Chief Scientist and Head, Advance Materials Technology Department. He has worked in more than 45 nos of R&D Projects of National interest. His major areas of interest are extraction of metal values from ores and minerals by pyro-metallurgical processes and smelting reduction in particular. Dr. Bhoi has published more than 60 nos of research papers in National and International journals and 3 books to his credit. He has more than 10 nos of patents to his credit. Dr. Bhoi has visited Australia, Austria, Germany, USA, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, New York, Brzil, Singapore, MIDI, Ethiopia, South Africa and Dubai on various Research and Development Assignments and Visiting Fellowship Program.

• More than 32 years of R&D experience on process metallurgy, extraction of value added metals from ores and minerals and smelting reduction in particular.

• Major areas of interest are extraction of metal values from ores and minerals by pyro-metallurgical processes and smelting reduction in particular.

• Dr. B. Bhoi has been highly honoured, presented with a “Momento” in the National Seminar on Innovations in Science & Technology for Inclusive Delopment” on the occasion of 16th Odisha Bigyan Congress, Bhubaneswa organised by Indian Science Congress Associationr on 23-24th Nov. 2013 where the undersigned was one of the panelist.
