    DESCRIPTION :

    Did my masters in Microbiology and I worked as a CSIR-Senior Research Fellow at CSIR-IMMT to complete my PhD in the area of applied environmental microbiology. Thereafter I had the opportunity to join CSIR-IMMT as a scientist in 2004 and have been working in various government sponsored and network projects as a member and a leader. I worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Utah, USA in the area of Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal during 2007-2008. My current research area includes development of sustainable processes for biological treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater. A part of my research pursuit also includes the study of atmospheric aerosols and trace gases and their overall impact on the regional atmosphere.     AWARDS & HONOURS :
    • Received the Young Scientist Award’2005 for significant contribution in Applied Microbiology. The award was conferred at the 7th Indian Agricultural Scientists and farmers Congress organized at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University, Meerut, India.
    • Selected for the Biotechnology Overseas Associateship (long-term) 2005-2006, under the Biotechnology programme, awarded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India. In this regard will pursue post doctoral research at the Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of UTAH, Salt Lake City from January 2007.
