EXPERIENCE :
Dr. SP Das completed his B.Engineering (Metallurgy) in 1993 from NIT Rourkela.
Thereafter he worked in Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd.,(IMFA) for more than 10 years in the field of manufacturing of Ferro chrome and Ferro silicon.
He joined CSIR-IMMT,Bhubaneswar in 2004 in Mineral Processing Department and is currently working as Principal Scientist in the research and development in the field of beneficiation of low grade and complex minerals.
He received his doctoral degree from IIT Kharagpur in the study of comminution process through various diagnostics using sensors in tumbling mills.

Washing of high ash non coking and coking coal.
Recovery of valuables from red mud.
Recovery of nickel values from chromite overburden.
Study and control of comminution process through vibration signature.
AWARDS & HONOURS :
CSIR Technology Award 2017 by CSIR HQ, New Delhi for Technology for recovery of iron values from low and lean grade iron ore resources.
