DESCRIPTION :
Mr Deepak Kumar Sahu is a scientist at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and
Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar. He graduated from National Institute of
Technology Raipur with B.Tech. in Metallurgical Engineering. He is having
research as well as industrial exposure in the field of metallurgy and material
science. He started his professional
career while working as Assistant Manager at Essar Steel Ltd., Surat in 2011. After
one year, he joined Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay for Post-Graduation.
He received his M.Tech. Degree in 2014 with steel technology specialization
from the department of metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, IIT
Bombay. Then he joined Hoganas India Ltd. Pune, a Powder manufacturing Industry
where he worked as Engineer, Research and development in Iron Powder making
division. He joined CSIR-IMMT as a scientist in 2015.
He is involved in several R&D projects in the area of metallurgical and mineral processing activities. He is working on iron ore reduction, iron ore
pelletization, briquetting and sintering, utilization of blast furnace flue
dust, ore slimes and tailings, composite pellet, beneficiation of low grade ore (Iron ore, Chromite ore, Graphite ore, manganese ore etc. Currently, he is focussing on
the recovery of iron values from metallurgical plant wastes.
