    DESCRIPTION :

    Tonmoy Kundu has research as well as industrial experience in the field of mineral processing. He qualified for GATE and pursued post-graduation (M.Tech) from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, in the field of Mineral Engineering. He was awarded the Gold Medal for securing 1st rank in the department. After the completion of M. Tech, Mr. Kundu joined the Mineral Processing – SBU of McNally Bharat Engineering Co. Limited (MBECL), Kolkata. Later, he joined the Metallurgical and Material Handling Division of Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T), Kolkata. During his industrial work span of around three and half years (in total), he was responsible for analysis of the test reports, process equipment selection and sizing, preparation of process flow diagram cum mass balance, floating of equipment enquiry specifications followed by technical evaluation of the vendor offers, preparation of technical offer write-up, etc. of various coal and mineral processing plant project proposals. Mr. Kundu joined CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, as a Scientist in the year 2016. Subsequently, he completed his doctorate from the Academy of Scientific and Industrial Research in 2025. Presently, he is working on process flowsheet development for the beneficiation of low and lean grade ores of iron, coal, critical and strategic minerals through conventional as well as advanced beneficiation techniques. Dr. Kundu is a member of various professional societies and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
