DESCRIPTION :
Dr. T. Pavan Kumar currently working as Senior Scientist in the Department of R&D Planning and Business Development at CSIR-Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. He obtained his B.Sc Chemistry in 2002 with college first and M.Sc Organic Chemistry in 2004 from Osmania University, Hyderabad and secured university first with four gold medals. He pursued his Ph.D work in Chemistry at CSIR-IICT as CSIR-JRF/SRF and received Ph.D degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2011. Following his Ph.D, he worked for an IP company (Dolcera) for about 2 years and then got selected for Inspire Faculty Award from DST in 2012. He again worked at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad as Inspire Faculty & Assistant Professor-AcSIR for about 5 years. He holds PGDPL (Patents Law) from NALSAR, Hyderabad and several certifications from WIPO. He was a visiting fellow (Post Doc) at NDSU, USA in 2015 and also associated with NRDC, New Delhi as Manager-IP&TT for s short stint in 2016-2017. Before joining CSIR-IMMT, he was Assistant Professor at TGASC, Puducherry. His research interests includes Organic Chemistry, Asymmetric Synthesis, Process Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Small Molecules Chemistry, Green Chemistry. He has vast experience in Intellectual Property (Patents) and has about 18 patents to his credit.
He is a associate fellow of Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences, life member of the Chemical Research Society of India, Material Research Society of India, Global Intellectual Property Convention, Indian Society of Chemists & Biologists, and the Indian Science Congress Association. His present research work is focused on small molecule chemistry with biology interface and process chemistry and his core functioning is in the areas of Intellectual Property and Technology Management & Business Development.
