CSIR-IMMT is deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Dr. M. P. Wakdikar, Advisor and Programme Officer, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, after his brave battle against COVID19. He has guided and supported CSIR-IMMT in our Polymetallic Manganese Nodules (PMN) program. Through his formidable intellect, patience, and hard work he has been indispensable to the national efforts on deep sea minerals. We have lost a guide, a colleague, and a friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace and may his loved ones find comfort and strength.
